The American Revolution & The War of 1812

On the 28th of June, 1814, the United States Sloop "WASP" engaged in a battle with the British Sloop "REINDEER". 
The battle resulted in the men of the WASP boarding the REINDEER. Fierce hand-to-hand combat occurred. 
Nineteen minutes after the boarding, the crew of the WASP obtained a decisive victory resulting in the capture of the REINDEER. 
Midshipman Frank Toscan was mortally wounded during the fight and died shortly thereafter from the wounds received in battle.
He was one of the very few heroes of his time to be posthumously honored by The Congress of the United States of America.
