Engineer Tintype and Rare Hat Insignia. Nice display of a rare tintype of an egineering 2nd Lt. On his hat is an example of the same type of hat insignia. Tintype has great subject matter and is in great condition. It is in a leatherete case which has a nice mat and minor scuffing to the outside. Hinge is unrepaired and in good condition. The insigina is an excellent false embroidered wreath with a silver castle which is attached to a black flet oval with a staff wreath beneath. Rear of devise has two loops for securing to the front of a hat or side plate.
