M 1833 Dragoon Officer Saber - Rare inspected model.  Extremly rare saber but this is only the second know to surface that was inspected. The inspection is on the tang of the blade and was discovered when the grip was re wrapped. Brass guard shows use but has generous amounts of gilt remaining and is stamped ORD and WS.  As noted the original sharkskin wrap had deteriorated from poor storage so it was replaced as was the dragoon wire by the best restoration artist know to exist.  The pipe back blade has turned gray and has pitting along it's surface.  Etch is faint but can be seen in some areas. Steel scabbard has turned a nice dark patina and is inspected on both sides of the drag with WC and ORD.
