Tucker and Sherrard 1st model Dragoon Revolver |
Very Rare Tucker and Sherrard 1st model Dragoon Revolver. It was produced in Lancaster Texas. This is serial #8x and has an experimental low back hammer of which only 5 are known to exist. I believe the other four are in the 5x serial # range. This is a .44 caliber copy of the Colt Dragoon Model with the biggest difference being the lack of the loading aperture. This revolver was captured and carried home as a souvenir by Wm. L. Gross of the 28th Maine, Company B and later of the 14th Maine. It is accompanied by Photographs, Documents, and Service records. There are also original Writings and Poems of Sgt. Gross. |
