Markings on back spine of blade - Crown D , Crown RC, S&K. Knuckle bow has a hand cut #18 & crown over D. Ironic that it has the same 18 as the one featured in John Thillmann's book Civil War Cavalry and Artillery Sabers on page 372. Perhaps there is another meaning other than a rack number. The blade is bright with a few light nicks and some darker areas. The grip and wire are excellent. Brass is a brown patina. The scabbard is brown and heavily worn with some pitting toward the drag. Drag has been cleaned but no markings are visible.  A scarce S&K
