Non Regulation Staff & Field Sword - Presentation - no name.   This model is with the larger guard.  Pretty standard non reg.  Steel guard with Eagle and US cut into steel face.  Sharkskin guard and wire have no issues.  Blade has visable etch and some remaining frost with staining.  What is interesting is that the blade has a presentation with a blank name and date.  It looks like a name may have been on it but may have been buffed off?   Presentation on obverse side says:

Presented to ____________

of the Bridesberg Guard, being one of the two

most skillfull and expert swordsman of a class of

fifty pupils at Frankford by Major Beatty,

March ____ 1864

Obverse blade etch has the proof slug / presentation / Eagle in panel.  Reverse has Clauberg stamp and US in a panel.  Steel scabbard is in good condition with a small hole on the reverse side of the drag.  Steel has started to turn a gray patina.  Interesting research project to see if this was ever actually presented and to whom if documented in some sort of local records.
