A Pennsylvania Militia, State Fencibles Waist Belt Plate in excellent condition. This two piece plate is all original and measures 3 1/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches. It was used from 1855-1885 by the State Fencibles of Philadelphia, PA. It is cast brass. The State Fencibles of Philadelphia was a renowned independent company founded in 1813 and existing into the 20th century. This plate is hand stamped with a "3"and "H S" on both pieces. This style plate is #359 pg. 232 of American Military Belt Plates by O'Donnell & Campbell and is from the collection of James Hart.
