Condition:
N.P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield etched blade with a stand of crossed American flags, cannon, drums and a Liberty cap followed by foliate scrolls, a spread winged American Eagle with engraved E. Pluribus Unum. The reverse has another stand of arms with American flag, cannons and drums, a large U.S., a mounted officer and Tecumseh. The guard has decorated branches and quillon. The decoration is also at the top of the knuckle bow and around the base of the pommel. The grip is leather with twisted brass wire. The scabbard is browned iron with iron mounts ans no markings.
