M1833 Dragoon dated 1834 State of Mass. - Preview

Seldom found 1834 dated saber. Made foe the state of Mass. Very small size Ames address. The blade is engraved United States Dragoons

Manufactured: Springfield, Mass  Maker: N. P. Ames Cutler  Year: 1834  Model: Model 1833 enlisted 
Size: 34 inch blade, 1.128 wide, & .37 thick  Condition: VG 

Very Early production with very small marking: N. P. Ames / Cutler / Springfield / 1834. The blade is engraved United States Dragoons. The only other markings are: MS marked quillon and scabbard drag. The drag is also stamped with the ORD mark and JAJB. The guard is brass as is the backstrap The grip is leather with dragoon style wire wrap. The blade is bright with strong markings of the Ames needle point etching. The sword shows use with some leather wear but overall Excellent. Super blade, perfect scabbard with no dents or dings and quite a bit of original browning..
