Size: 20.9 inch blade  Condition:  

Standard fish scale cast grip with integral pommel displaying the American Eagle on both sides. Cast brass guard with 5/SD stamped on the knucklebow and 34 stamped inside. The quillon is inspected JL and RC. The blade is stamped N. P. Ames / Cabotville and the reverse is U.S. / 1846 / R. The scabbard is black leather with an attached belt loop which id maker marked and dated 1861. The belt loop and seam are entirely riveted. This is the 1861 scabbard manufactured to put the sword back into service.
